Madman's Love Song

Madman's Love Song

Spheres of darkness follow me
I think about you late at night
Bewitching all I'll ever see
You grip my sodden soul

Silent hills of blue cloth
Streching out my eyes
Flitting across my face like a moth
You grip my sodden soul

Dark rivers cascade
Across a heaving plane
Watching the muse parade
You grip my sodden soul

Lines curve across a play
Written in Russian
Every night and every day
You grip my sodden soul

Beatles song on the radio
Michael on the screen
I watch you, and cry out "Oh"
You grip my sodden soul

Vodka, no and yes
Carpet burns of God
Swirling green tea gypsy dress
You grip my sodden soul

Fred the Italian sings
Remove my beating heart
Sandals and black coffee rings
You grip my sodden soul

Brown drill bits of genetics
Carve away a book
Pins and needles, kinestetics
You grip my sodden soul

Drunken glitter green
Black stage pound
Northern Europe's goddess queen
You grip my sodden soul

This piece really takes me somewhere else. Or it makes me want to be somewhere else, like in a coffee shop, having a cup of tea, and listening to you read it. (Not that this is likely to happen, being getting me to go somewhere is like trying to dehorn rhino by taking some sewing thread, tying it around his horn, and pulling, but you get my sentiments at least.)

Do you have it in you to do some (more?) vampire poetry?

Of course it's not my style, but. . .

Oh yeah!! This semi vampire nut thinks it will fairly soon.

Hm. Do you have a higher opinion of the fanged, though non-vampiristic version of Thanatos than you're letting on?
