Under The Wormwood Tree

Under The Wormwood Tree

Under the wormwood tree
Green fairies danced for you and me
We sang for sweet Calliope
Under the wormwood tree

Under the wormwood tree
We slept upon the silent sea
I was you and you were me
Under the wormwood tree

Under the wormwood tree
We were all that we could be
I read you all my poetry
Under the wormwood tree

Under the wormwood tree
We didn't need our eyes to see
We sang our haunting melody
Under the wormwood tree

Under the wormwood tree
We didn't need reality
We sang the songs out silently
Under the wormwood tree

Under the wormwood tree
The sirens sang for you and me
I read you all my poetry
Under the wormwood tree
We were all that we could be
Under the wormwood tree

November

November

The roses are no longer brilliant red
Some have faded, most are dead
The roses are no longer brilliant red
The rains are coming on and it is cold
Some get lonely, some get old
The rains are coming on and it is cold

Nights are long and sharper than a knife
Season of the end of life
Nights are long and sharper than a knife
All the birds except the crows are gone
None are left to sing the song
All the birds except the crows are gone

Leaves are falling from the silent trees
Fall and tumble in the breeze
Leaves are falling from the silent trees
Barren branches reach out to the sky
Beneath the lonely crows that fly
Barren branches reach out to the sky

As you slip away into the fall
Wonder what commands it all
As you slip away into the fall
As the rain pours from the dreary sky
Watch the cold November fly
As the rain pours from the dreary sky

Hearts

Hearts

Hearts beating together
Throbbing now and forever
Drowning out any protest
Drowning out the rest
Pulling together
Beat now and forever
Throbs that burn like a whip
But the beats won't slip
Lovely pain, gorgeous longing
A slight feeling of belonging
An eternal embrace
Out of time, out of space
While the heartbeat goes on
Once the body is gone

Lament Of the Elms

Lament Of The Elms

Stately giants stood here
Watching over us all
Now they're gone
For they must fall
I remember being small
Standing at their feet
Gazing up at them
Wondering if I would ever be that tall
Now the plague has killed them all
Ev'ry silent elm will fall

Sing with me, sing their quiet song
They have been gone for so long
Sing with me, for those who are gone
Lament for the elms

They stood and comforted us
They sang us to sleep at night
They held us up as we stumbled
Helped us see the light
I remember being small
Looking up to their kind branches
Wondering why they were so tall
Now i wonder why they had to fall
Ev'ry silent elm will fall

Sing with me, sing their quiet song
They have been gone for so long
Sing with me, for those who are gone
Lament for the elms

Sing their quiet song with me
A requiem for giant trees
Those who stood here for so long
Now I lament for those who are gone
Singing a lament for the elms

Trees In The Wind

Trees In The Wind

Soft swishing, a silent ocean
Washing away the sorrows
Lonely people under the trees
Washed clean by the winds
Leaves fall on the killers
And the dreamers and the lovers
The trees are pure
Unstained, virgin goddesses
Withstanding the assult
Of humankind's rough magic
Winds sweep across their
Silent tresses, giving them tongue to speak
To comfort the lonely
Longing people under their branches
Playing a primal symphony
To the old man at their feet
Singing their song forever
To the killers
And ther lovers and the dreamers

Tears

Tears

Sometimes my voice is quiet
And only my soul screams
Sometimes my eyes are dry
And only my heart cries
Sometimes my flesh is cold
And only my mind burns

Sometimes I let my tears fall free
Sometimes I hide them
I let my tears fall only in my mind
Never will I cry out loud
But as I sit alone
I forget my vow
Not to cry
I forget my promise to myself
And I cry anyway
Alone
Always alone
Alone I cry
Tears streaming silently down my face
Dripping away into my own sorrow
Where my promises mean nothing
Where I am nothing
But tears
Running into an ocean
Where I'll drown
In my own tears
I cry alone
I can steal, and I can lie
But I won't let you see me cry
I cry alone
Alone
Tears will drown me if I swim alone
I cry
Alone

Burning Tears

Burning Tears

When you cry it burns a hole
Into my soul
When you scream
It makes a nightmare of my dream
I couldn't live without you
I don't think I could even try
You taught me how to love
And you taught me how to lie
You taught me how to live forever
And you taught me how to die
And you taught me of the burning tears
That hurt me when you cry

You showed me how to sing
And how to scream my heart out loud
You taught me how to be humble
You, who are so proud
Don't leave me here forever
Don't leave me here to die
Don't leave me with the burning tears
That hurt me when you cry

3 AM

3 AM

Late, or early
Depends on how you look at it
The floor is cold
The ceiling seems cruel

Terrible whiteness
Terrible Ink stains across the pictures
All the pictures
All the movies

Shadows tease me
Lights disappear
Nobody here but me
Just me

All alone in the dark
At three am in the morning
Just another cold November day to most
But somewhere

Someone is being born
Someone is being tortured
Someone is having an illegal abortion
Someone is dying

Someone is being raped
Someone is screaming in pain
Someone is being mugged
While I lie on my cold floor

At 3 AM

Break Down

Break Down

All day a silent monolith of strength
All night sobbing on the floor
All day a stoic pillar
All night a crumbling ruin

Break down, Inkblot
Break down and cry
It'll be alright
Break down your stone wall
And cry
Wash away the sorrows
Break down and cry
It's ok

All day you hold up the world
All night it crushes you into the ground
All day you chench your fists in anger
All night you sob in my arms

Break down, Inkblot
Break down and cry
Let yourself cry
Break down
Everything will be ok
Please let yourself cry
Break down
Cry, Inkblot, cry

All day you shout to the mountains, defying them
All night you drown yourself in suppressed tears
All day you stand in the river, goading it to wash you away
All night you cry a river of your own

Break down, Inkblot
Let yourself cry
Break down and wash yourself clean
Cry
It'll help
I promise
Please, Inkblot
Let yourself cry

Cry
To wash away your pain
Cry
It's ok
Just cry, my Inkblot, cry
Wash a little bit of the ink
From your soul
Cry, my Inkblot cry
Wash a little ink from your soul

Inkling

Inkling

Goodnight, little one
So innocent
Soon the demons will come
Soon the killers will come
Soon you will no longer be pure
But for now
Hold on to your innocence
If only for a little while
Hold on
Soon this happy world will be banished
Soon you will have your heart broken
Soon sin will come to you
But for now
Hold on to your innocence
Hold on for just a little while
While you chase the demons away
Hold on
Good night, little demon
Soon you will be an Inkblot
Soon you will be like me
Twisted and cruel
But for now you are just an Inkling
Hold on, little Inkling
Hold on, until the waves sweep you away
Into the dark
Hold on
Good night
Little Inkling
Good night

Invisible Chains

Invisible Chains

Inkblot wanders no more
Inkblot screams
The faceless ones have come
To capture Inkblot
Inkblot runs
There is nowhere to hide
Nowhere to run to
No way to run
Nowhere to hide
Can't run
Can't hide
From the faceless ones
And the invisible chains

Inkblot's Love Song

Inkblot's Love Song

Run in the black hills
Alphabet number four
Proboscis beating mind stills
You spark my blackened heart

Red trench wolf pack
Young, but older
Place soft claws upon my back
You spark my blackened heart

Darkness fishnet hot
Madness in a tome
Wolf girl charms the young Inkblot
You spark my blackened heart

Leather chains wrap my heart
You sit so close to me
Grey pools of madness my pulse start
You spark my blackened heart

Albino wolf, girl in the scrolls
Sunglasses in the blue
We are close, my drumbeat rolls
You spark my blackened heart

Silver talons grip my mind
Golden waving seaweed
Fear to speak for what I'll find
You spark my blackened heart

Roots and bubbles openness
Snow and alcohol
Hot blood dreaming endlessness
You spark my blackened heart

Rainbow clouds cover eyes
Face and curving form
Electric contact quill that flies
You spark my blackened heart

Flip a vaulted ceiling dove
Throbbing wolf heart girl
Inkblot will confess its love
You spark my blackened heart

You burn into an Inkblot's soul
Swaying shoelace book
So close so far hunt for a scroll
You spark my blackened heart

Behind Sunglasses

Behind Sunglasses

Eyes are soul windows
Inkblot covers them
Behind sunglasses
The Inkblot cries
The Inkblot smiles
The Inkblot lives in covered eyes
The Inkblot will not dissappear
Behind sunglasses
Inkblot loves
Inkblot hates
Inkblot is hidden
Behind sunglasses
The Inkblot's eyes are red
Behind sunglasses
There is always
A little
Inkblot

Mangled Mandala

Mangled Mandala

Bleeding virgins on the floor
In a tattered photograph
Taken by the gypsy man
When the tears ran dry
Swirling tapestries
Coat the vomit spattered bathroom floor
Where the tango dancer died
After the first show
Where the suit collared beggars whine at the conductor
As the puppet ochestra
Drowns out the mirrors
That show the bleeding virgins
In the gypsy man's photograph
Taken when the tears ran dry

Dancing On The Edge

Dancing On The Edge

Dance through the supernova
Sing through the night
Laugh while the sky is falling
And fall slowly into the dark
Tango on the razor's edge
One foot wrong and it's the end
Slipping on the edge of the night
Falling into the stars
Run through the waves
As they carry you out to sea
Floating til you can't hold on any longer
Sinking, laughing
Dance through the supernova
Sing through the fire
